Also nearby is the castle of Agios Georgios (a 16th century Venetian castle - the capital of Kefalonia until 1757) with panoramic views and restaurants on the top of the hill, the national park of Ainos and the tombs of Mazarakata (then Minoan).
The capital Argostoli with shops, restaurants, bars and clubs is a 20-minute drive. Supermarkets are a 10-minute drive away, and the nearest village of Spartia with its small shops and beach is also a 2-minute drive away.
